Plasma Injection Therapy is a natural treatment method that is steadily gaining popularity to help minimise wrinkles, fine lines, and improve an uneven skin tone in the face.

Using your own blood, plasma is collected, condensed, and then injected to regenerate the skin. This is a novel type of revitalising medicine and is often referred to as the ‘Vampire Facelift’.

A vital component in the body’s capacity to control bleeding and restore health to injured blood vessels and cells are platelets.  Growth factors, which are found in platelets, help the body’s cells to become active and youthful. These growth factors have been demonstrated to accelerate tissue repair, boost collagen formation, and have advantageous effect on skin resurfacing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Plasma Injection Therapy has been widely used in the last decade in various specialities such as Orthopaedics, Dentistry, Plastic Surgery and Aesthetics.  Within Aesthetics Plasma Injection Therapy has been used as an alternative to other treatments such as Dermal Fillers and anti-ageing injections or as an additional complimentary treatment alongside.

This process is extremely safe because it uses your own blood, which eliminates any risk of disease transmission and reduces the possibility of any adverse reactions.  Prior to your treatment you will be screened for suitability by one of our highly trained Aesthetic Nurses or a Specialist Consultant and you will have an opportunity to ask any questions.

The process lasts around an hour.  During your initial session, your expectations and any medical history will be discussed.  For Vampire Facelift, a topical anaesthetic cream will be applied to the face for 30-45 minutes.  A blood sample will be taken from your arm, which will then be put into our advanced centrifuge machine to separate the plasma and platelets from the red blood cells.  The plasma will then be injected into the face.  You may experience some minor discomfort during the procedure, and then there may be some temporary bruising and swelling that lasts for one to two days.

The treatment usually takes around 4-6 weeks for full effects and a course of 3 treatments is usually recommended initially and then a ‘top up’ treatment every 6 -12 months to maintain results.

Any side effects are usually mild to moderate and include swelling and bruising to the treatment area.

Following the treatment, you should:

  • Avoid washing the face for 12 hours.
  • Avoid using face creams or make up for 24 hours.
  • No other Aesthetic skin treatments for 2-4 weeks (depending on the treatment).
  • Avoid drinking alcohol for 24 hours.
  • Single Face treatment (Vampire Facelift) – £250
  • Course of 3 treatments – £650
