PRP Therapy for Musculoskeletal Conditions
PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) Therapy is an innovative, non-surgical treatment designed to help alleviate joint and tendon pain and promote healing by harnessing the body’s own healing power. At RAD Clinics, we offer PRP Therapy for Joint and tendon Pain (MSK), a scientifically proven approach for treating musculoskeletal conditions, including chronic tendon injuries and joint degeneration. This regenerative therapy uses your body’s own platelets to accelerate tissue repair, reduce inflammation, and restore function, offering long-term relief without the need for surgery.
Fees/Duration
- PRP Therapy for Joints (MSK): £450 per session (45 minutes)
- PRP combined with Hyaluronic Acid: £650 per session (45 minutes)
Treatment times are approximate and may vary based on individual needs.
Please note that PRP therapy appointments cannot be booked online before we assess your suitability for the treatment. A face-to-face “Advanced MSK” consultation is required to evaluate your condition, which is subject to a consultation fee of £160. This fee includes a full assessment, an ultrasound scan of the area, and a personalised treatment plan.

Procedure for PRP Therapy
The procedure is minimally invasive and straightforward:
- A small amount of your blood is drawn.
- The blood sample is processed in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets.
- The PRP is injected into the affected joint or tendon under ultrasound guidance using a fine needle.
This PRP injection for MSK conditions promotes healing directly at the source of the pain, helping reduce inflammation and stimulating the regeneration of damaged tissues. The procedure requires minimal downtime, and you can resume normal activities soon after treatment.
PRP Therapy for Knee Joint Pain and Other MSK Conditions
PRP therapy is particularly beneficial for knee joint pain and various other musculoskeletal conditions. When injected into the knee joint or other joints affected by wear and tear, PRP injections for joint pain help improve healing, ease pain, and improve mobility. Whether you suffer from knee arthritis, tendonitis, or ligament injuries, PRP joint injections can provide lasting relief and significantly improve joint function.
Ligament Injury
Ligament injuries like sprains or tears can be debilitating, leading to lengthy recoveries and pain. PRP therapy promotes healing in ligament tissues, particularly for chronic injuries, by using growth factors in platelets to repair damaged fibres. This reduces inflammation, aids tissue regeneration, and helps restore strength and stability to the joint, facilitating a quicker return to normal activities.
Tendon Injury
Tendon injuries, such as tendonitis and tendinopathy, are common in those who perform repetitive movements. They can cause pain and limit movement. PRP therapy is effective for these injuries, as it speeds up healing by boosting platelet concentration at the injury site. The growth factors in PRP promote collagen production, aiding tendon repair and reducing inflammation. This treatment helps relieve pain, improve function, and prevent further injuries.
Joint Arthritis
Osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint disease that leads to pain, stiffness, and reduced mobility due to cartilage breakdown. PRP therapy uses the body’s platelets to promote cartilage repair and reduce inflammation, stimulating natural healing. This treatment can restore joint function, alleviate pain, and may serve as an effective alternative to joint replacement surgery, offering long-term relief from arthritis symptoms.
Does PRP Help with Joint Pain?
Yes, PRP therapy is highly effective in treating joint pain, especially in cases of degenerative conditions like osteoarthritis. Studies have demonstrated that PRP therapy can enhance tissue healing, reduce inflammation, and even improve joint function. For patients suffering from long-term joint pain, PRP injections provide a safe and natural alternative to invasive surgeries, helping restore mobility and reduce the need for pain medications.
Benefits of PRP Therapy for Joint Pain
PRP Therapy offers numerous benefits for joint pain and musculoskeletal issues:
- Natural Healing: Uses your body’s own blood components to repair and regenerate tissues.
- Pain Relief: Reduces pain associated with MSK conditions.
- Improved Mobility: Helps restore function and improve joint movement.
- Cartilage Regeneration: Stimulates the regeneration of damaged cartilage and soft tissues.
